New Menu Coming Soon!
We are all really excited about the new menu! Chef Eric has brought fresh to a new level here at Maddi's and the food sounds and looks fantastic. We will be debuting our new menu on Monday, October 1st so be sure to check it out. We will be sending an email to all of our great customers and we will post it on our website as well. Our menu is going to have a whole new look as well so there's even more to look forward to! The Fried Chicken is staying, but Chef Eric has changed the chicken to a free-range chicken from Springer Mountain NC. The meat is even better than it already was if you can believe it! The Shrimp and Grits will be staying, but with a more traditional low-country spin. We are introducing many new entrees, from Fish Tacos to Pork Osso Bucco from Grateful Growers farm in Denver, NC. As soon as we have the new menu going, we look forward to sharing it with all of our wonderful guests!
Octoberfest October 16th!
Maddi's is also excited to tell you about Octoberfest! On Thursday, October 16th we will be having a beer dinner in celebration. Chef Eric is preparing an incredible 5 course feast which will be paired with microbrews from across the country. Maddi's own Arthur Miller is creating a special brew for the night as well, and you won't have that anywhere else! The dinner is at 7 pm and reservations are required. The dinner, with beer tastings included is $39 per person. It's a great deal and sure to be lots of fun. Seating is limited, so please be sure to call us at 704-987-7762 to make your reservation.

Maddi's is proud to introduce Eric Rice as our new Executive Chef. Chef Rice came to us from Charlotte Country Club where he worked for 2 years. He is already working on our new fall menu. I have seen the ideas for some of the new entrees and let me tell you they look good!! He is putting an emphasis on local products such as pork from Grateful Growers, rice and grits from Anson Mills and organic produce from local farmers markets.
Chef Eric is very excited to meet all of our regular customers so come in and say hi!

I'm Back!
It's been awhile since I last wrote, but we have been so busy! The bistro has been bustling with summer business and we hosted our First Anniversary Wine Dinner which was a huge success. Chef Jon did an amazing job on the food and our wine rep Shawnna paired the wines perfectly. Our General Manager, Jon Dalton, has opened a new restaurant, Tin Pan Alley Pub & Pizza in the former Harvey's location in Huntersville. Jon is splitting his time now between the Bistro and Tin Pan and I have taken the role of Assistant Manager at Tin Pan Alley. I will always be a part of the Maddi's family however, so I will continue to bring you the latest news and developments from Maddi's, and maybe an occasional tidbit from Tin Pan Alley as well. Be sure to come by the Bistro and say hi if you haven't been in recently!

May Flowers
May has brought many new faces into Maddi's. We just hired a new cook, Chris who is from Charleston, SC and has been in the restaurant business for 16 years. We also hired a new hostess, Toni, who has also been in the restaurant business for many years, and just moved here from Georgia. Stephanie is our new server, she is from Ohio. She now lives in Denver with her husband and 10 month old daughter!
Jon Dalton just recently purchased Harvey's Bar, which will reopen as Tin Pan Alley. It will be a pizza place and bar! Right now it is projected to reopen in June. Some of the new art work in Tin Pan Alley will be done by Natalie, one of our very talented Maddi's servers!
Mother's Day is starting to fill up even more! So call and make your reservations!

New At the Bistro!
Okay, so I finally saw the Mother's Day menu and let me tell you, you really cannot miss this! Now I'm just going to give you a little "taste" of the menu, so you will have to come in and see what else the bistro is cooking up! We're going to be having a lobster & creamed spinach omelet, baked praline pecan french toast and even crab cake benedict! I mean come on, crab cake benedict? YUM!
The full menu will be available by this Wednesday on our website. I think that we will definitely fill up fast with all of these great special choices on Mother's Day, so you should probably make your reservations early.
Tomorrow night (Sunday) we are having little one year old Sofia's private birthday party. Even at only one year old Sofia knows that the best place to celebrate her birthday is Maddi's!! I am sure that Sofia and her family will have a great time!
I just spoke with one of our favorite guests, Marsha, who loves to come in frequently to dine at Maddi's. I asked her honestly, why does she choose Maddi's? Marsha said " The bistro is uptown cuisine in Birkdale Village. I love the food because it is very fresh, different, and this is the kind of food that I love to cook at home." She also mentioned "The service is fantastic, I love coming in and talking to the staff at Maddi's, it makes me feel like I'm eating comfortably at home, with great conversation."
Any new comments or questions about the new menu coming in May feel free to e-mail me.

Maddi's Gallery will be hosting the Carolina Folk Art Festival May 17th & May 18th at on the greens in Birkdale. We are expecting more than 30 folk artists coming from across the south. It should be a great turn out and a lot of interesting art!

Maddi's welcomes Arthur Miller as our new assistant general manager! Everyone at Maddi's is very excited for Arthur to join the bistro's staff. He is a graduate from the Culinary Institute of America with years of restaurant experience. I am sure that he will be a great asset to the bistro.

Whether you are in the mood for some tasty beignets or our chocolatey mousse cake, you are in luck! To make sure that we have enough of our sweet treats, please limit one per table.
Big News on the menu front!!
While I was at work the other day, I overheard Jon Dalton and Chef Dubay discussing our seasonal menu change that will take place in May. For everyone who misses our salmon and southern collard greens, you may be in luck! They are thinking about putting them back on the menu!! If you have any menu suggestions or miss any of our previous menu items, let me know because the menu changes will be taking place soon.

What's Happening At Maddi's. . .
This week at Maddi's, our head Chef Jon Dubay has been all the way in San Diego for his bachelor party! Most of you know Jon as the creator of that yummie cheddar and smoked gouda macaroni and cheese that our bistro serves! Chef Jon will be getting married over Mother's Day weekend! Brandon, our Sous Chef, has been keeping the kitchen in line and running wonderfully while Chef Jon has been away. Brandon came up with our weekend special of creole seasoned and grilled lamb chop with pesto risotto croquettes, porcini au jus and seasonal vegtables! YUM!
